Real Madrid 3 Deportivo La Coruna 2 (La Liga)

It took Kaka under sixty seconds to reel off his first shot for Real Madrid against Deportivo. The Brazilian proved Real’s magician for the opener, threading a pass through two defenders’ legs for Raul to tuck home. Real’s porous defence was exposed when Riki equalised with a powerful back-post header, but Los Blancos quickly moved back in front as Cristiano Ronaldo opened his account from the penalty spot. Depor levelled inside 40 seconds of the second half as Valeron struck from the edge of the box. But Real were soon back in front, Lassana Diarra popping in the third with a tidy strike from 15-yards. Real Sociedad 0 Real Madrid 2 (Friendly)

Karim Benzema was left unmarked in front of goal in the 49th minute to redirect the rebound from Cristiano Ronaldo’s free-kick under Claudio Bravo after the Sociedad keeper had failed to hold on to the shot. Late substitute Wesley Sneijder sealed it after curling a free-kick around the wall and past the outstretched Bravo in the first minute of injury time.
