Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the first minute with a trademark run and low finish with his right foot. It took until the last 15 minutes for Real to put real gloss on the scoreline, Ronaldo got his second with a powerful header, Guti continued his fine recent scoring run and in the dying minutes Karim Benzema and Ruud van Nistelrooy reminded Pellegrini of their finishing prowess.
